Mark Spatz serves as Cohen & Gresser’s General Counsel and as a partner in the firm’s Litigation & Arbitration practice. He has a broad practice representing corporations, institutions, and individuals in a variety of complex matters, with a focus on commercial disputes and defending corporations and institutions in consumer class action, product liability, and mass tort litigation. In addition to managing all aspects of complex litigation, Mark works with clients to devise litigation strategies and large-scale complex settlement programs for multi-district actions, including playing a leading role in the representation of two international companies in mediations and settlement negotiations regarding thousands of lawsuits in large multi-forum products liability actions. He has both trial and appellate experience and has also served as the primary counsel on several arbitrations, including before the International Court of Arbitration. Mark also has experience conducting internal investigations on behalf of several corporate clients. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America in the product liability litigation – defendants category. Super Lawyers has recognized Mark on its New York Metro Super Lawyers list for civil litigation: defense.

Prior to joining the firm, he was a litigation associate at Kaye Scholer.

Mark is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was Associate and Senior Editor of the Journal of Constitutional Law. He also earned a Master of Bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and an A.B., with honors, from Brown University.
